Wow, thanks for the tip! My start menu was loading normally until I tried to attach a USB 2.0 device in a USB 1.0 slot. I don’t know why it would change it to a really slow value but the tip worked great!

There’s really no reason for a video to be used to explain how to do this. It’s a waste of bandwidth.

Change the value of the registry key “MenuShowDelay” under “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop” to something other than its default value of 400. I have mine set to 5 and it works well.

Now you have the same information, expressed in about 400 bytes as opposed to the video which takes over a megabyte.

Please do not suggest changing registeries. This does not do anything… Instead follow these 5 steps and you are done…

    1. Right click on the Windows Desktop and choose Properties
    2. Go to “Appearance” tab
    3. Click “Effects” button
    4. Uncheck “Use the following transition effect for menus and tooltips:” and Uncheck “Show shadows under menus”
    5. Click OK and then OK again

This shall fix your problem :)
